MAPPING ARCHIVAL RECORDINGS OF CONCERTINA PLAYERS

‘Mapping Archival Recordings of Concertina Players' by Kayne Coy, this year’s recipient of the Student Research Bursary in association with the Irish Traditional Music Archive. Followed by live music and dance.

Kayne will present work undertaken in the creation of an interactive web map showcasing a selection of historical concertina players and associated media held in ITMA and other national archival collections.  The aim of the project is to explore the potential of interactive, searchable maps as a digital resource that can complement traditional archival search methods and encourage increased engagement with these invaluable collections.”

This lecture will follow the Official Opening of Consairtín 2025 by Clare County Arts Officer Siobhán Mulcahy.
